The surgeon was over heard saying
“Dan, please relax, it’s just a small incision”
The patient replied
“Doc my name’s not Dan”
The surgeon said
“I know, I’m Dan”

The surgeon’s name was Daniel Hale Williams…
and the doc could have a conversation with the patient as they only used some local anesthesia.
